Operation Christmas Child, a program of Samaritan’s Purse, partners with local believers and churches in over 100 countries to share the powerful message of the Gospel through a simple shoebox gift. Our desire is to continue to grow this exciting, life changing ministry so more children around the world are impacted by the Gospel. We accomplish shoebox gift growth through the development of leader volunteers in the US who lead local volunteer teams promoting and growing the ministry of Operation Christmas Child in their communities.
We are currently searching for a Technical Analyst who will serve on our Volunteer Relations team. The Technical Analyst is responsible for content and support of MyOCC, the online website that supports over 9,000 Connect Volunteers. This opportunity involves all aspects of this support site, including: content management, helpdesk support, developing requirements, and effective project planning of future enhancements. The professional will work closely with the Samaritan’s Purse Information Technology (IT) department and functions as liaison to other Operation Christmas Child sub-departments to assess requirements and resources to create and maintain an effective portal for the OCC Domestic volunteer program.
You will be given the opportunity to:
- Serve as a liaison between IT and other OCC departments to provide user requirements and provide input on design, development, delivery, and maintenance of technology-based solutions for the Connect Volunteer Program.
- Combine knowledge of IT practices and OCC ministry goals to help plan, develop, and implement systems and technology to meet OCC business needs.
- Coordinate end-user testing of technology-related projects to ensure smooth launch and user acceptance.
- Develop project plans and tracks status toward implementation, keeping management updated on progress.
- Manage all content on MyOCC for all volunteer roles including all resources, mapping technology, prayer updates, and inspirational stories and videos.
- Create volunteer MyOCC support and training tools so that all volunteers and staff can access the online community effectively and as easily as possible.
- Respond to user issues and helpdesk requests in a timely manner with user-friendly information and solutions for entire Connect volunteer program.
- Serves as a supplementary technical expert for volunteer relations technologies including the national volunteer database, MyOCC, and the Learning Management System.
We ask that you bring:
- Technical competence and background in computer system development and support in the following technologies: customer relations management database software, database management (SQL), project management software, and learning management system software.
- 5-7 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project Management experience strongly preferred.
