Opportunity Summary:

We have an incredible new opportunity for an experienced Data Storage Engineer (NetApp, LInux, SAN, RAID, Python, AWS EBS, Object-Storage) to join our internal Cloud infrastructure team!  This brand new long term private Cloud build and Implementation, stands at the forefront of progress in the non-profit Christian IT arena This Data Storage Infrastructure Engineer/Architect will be a part of a small, incredibly driven and intelligent internal Cloud team, and will be given a great sphere of influence having to make mission critical decisions that will impact a large portion of the Cloud Infrastructure.  Due to the use of numerous cutting edge Open Source tools, the ideal candidate would be a very forward-leaning Engineer with a background in Systems and/or Storage Engineering with a passion to learn the newest Cloud technologies, and apply Industry Leading practices.  If you are searching more than just a job, but a Career with a lasting impact, come see how we accomplish that!

Technical Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' of working experience in the technical areas of Storage and/or Data Engineering within a Linux, RHEL/RHEV or CentOS Environment.
  • Participate in Storage System Design consulting, Storage capacity planning and launch reviews.
  • Experience with block level storage, file system and/or object storage systems (OSS).
  • Desired Exposure to open-source Storage "Ceph" utilizing BASH or Shell Scripting for automation.
  • Deep understanding of RHEL 5/7, ZFS, various RAID and JBOD Storage.
  • Experience utilizing SQL, Bash, Shell, PERL and/or Python for automating redundant daily tasks.
  • Preferred exposure to OpenStack/AWS (or similar Cloud platform) for Virtual Cloud Storage, replicating data, fault-tolerance, and providing scalable virtual data Cloud solutions.
  • Preferred Exposure to Python Scripting or similar language for Automation and Configuration Management.
  • Experience working in a Storage or Cloud Datacenter environment.
  • Experience utilizing NetApp, NetApp CLI, or other Data Storage Systems (DSS).
  • Experience utilizing monitoring tools such as Nagios (preferably Open Source tool iCinga)
  • Experience setting up Virtual Storage, and converting Physical Storage components to Virtual Storage through an array of tools.
  • Maintaining existing Storage running on Virtual Machines (VM's), and Hypervisors (Hyper-V's).
  • Preferred exposure to any of the open source "ELK" stack (Elasticsearch, Logstach, Kibana) for log analytics of distributed Microservices.
  • Preferred exposure to "Gluster" or similar File-system Storage tool.
  • Preferred exposure to Amazon "EBS" or similar block-level storage platforms.
  • Utilize existing Data monitoring tools, and creating new monitoring processes or systems to ensure Data and Hardware components are running and secured.
  • Gather Storage and relevant System requirements and work to Design Storage and Data processes and systems to meet project goals.
  • Troubleshoot and correct Storage and/or Network Data issues as they relate to supported systems.


  • Helpful Certifications: CCNP Data Center, NCDA, EMCSA, EMCISA, EMCDCA
  • Provide cost analysis of implementing new Storage or Infrastructure tools, or changes to current Storage Systems.
  • Create and maintains relationships with Storage technology and Hardware vendors.
