Summary

Samaritan’s Purse is responding to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those effected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.We are seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (M&E Officer) to join our Bahamas response.The M&E Officer will have the responsibility to maintain chains of data collection, certify data quality, and verify that all donor and Samaritan’s Purse (SP) standard indicators are being accurately tracked and interpreted.In this position, you will be the gatekeeper of information, ensuring that reports are accurate, timely and meet donor standards.Will you join us in reaching out to those in the Bahamas with the hope of Jesus Christ?

A day in the life of a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and then we join together to pray for one another, our staff and volunteers serving around the globe. 

In the role of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, you will:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Support the Senior Program Manager in establishing and tracking program indicators and targets, and measuring overall impact 
  • Assist in development of assessments, databases, and information products related to project design and evaluation of program impact
  • Supervise national staff members in evaluation and tracking of program impact
  • Ensure data compliance with external donors
  • Ensure the timely submission of quality reports to donors, including training PMs on report writing, editing reports, and obtaining proper approvals
  • Maintain the technology retrieval system with iPads and other telecommunication
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience required, preferably in a cross-cultural environment
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university in International Affairs or Development, Statistics or related field of study
  • Ability to analyze data and project activities against core documents, policies, humanitarian ethics, and organizational goals
  • Experience with monitoring and evaluation routines of major donors
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to work and communicate with a diverse team in a pressured environment
  • Able to design, implement and evaluate data collection tools and analysis; critical and creative thinking abilities
  • Strong organizational skills; Mastery of necessary software: including Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Fluency in English (required)
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required)
