Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead all domestic operational aspects for its eight national processing centers.  If you are experienced in supply chain, warehouse management and have a passion for leading high volume staff and volunteers, this may be a great opportunity for you! Position requires significant travel throughout the US and increased seasonal travel September through December.  Ideally this position will be based Boone, NC IHQ or at our Ministry Center in Charlotte, NC. A day in the life of an Operations Manager:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

In the role of Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Manage the operation of all 8 Processing Centers, including more than 2,000 full-time and Associate staff serving in management and support roles
  • Oversee the operation of all Processing Centers to be in compliance with all local ordinances and regulations, and insuring that all processing-related systems and activities comply with Samaritan’s Purse policies, procedures, regulations, and ministry standards
  • Develop and manage the budget and all subsequent expenditures for OCC Operations and all Processing Centers
  • Develop a comprehensive staffing projection for more than 1,000 positions in Processing Centers, coordinating with Human Resources and other applicable departments that provide Processing Center staff
  • Locate, design, coordinate, and manage all Processing Centers, including the identification of Processing Center locations in cities where a permanent Samaritan’s Purse facility does not exist. This includes assessing all operational requirements such as security, applicable permits, and insurance.
  • Coordinate the operational aspects of the fulfillment of more than 300,000 Build-A-Shoebox-Online orders with the Build A Shoebox Online (BASBO) Project Manager
  • Work closely with all Samaritan’s Purse departments involved with the operation of the Processing Centers
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; seven (7) or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated success as a project manager who leads others well
  • Knowledgeable of supply chain best practices
  • Experienced working with high volume of volunteers and seasonal staff
  • Able to effectively lead the operations and processes of multiple sites
  • Strong communicator, able to negotiate effectively
  • Highly detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Flexible attitude, able to pivot and implement sudden changes quickly
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies

Language Requirement: Fluency in English

Travel Expectations: Approximately 90 days annually
