Samaritan’s Purse is seeking a Production Assistant to join our team at our International Headquarters location in Boone, N.C. You can be an important part of our Production and Audio/Visual team within the ministry.  As a Production Assistantyou will  provide delivery and set-up of audio/video equipment ministry-wide.  Also, you will travel to domestic and international field shoots to assist with video field production.  Come and use your gifts daily to advance the Gospel!

A day in the life of a Production Assistant:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

In the role of Production Assistant you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Dub, burn and transfer disc format, video and audiotapes as requested.  Record video from outside sources, cable TV, satellite, etc.  
  • Maintain knowledge of production equipment and production system in order to be proficient in their use and operation.
  • Assist with the delivery, set-up and troubleshooting of projectors, screens, DVD players and/or other playback devices ministry-wide, as scheduled.
  • Operate videotape for edit sessions and all associated audio and video signal routing to accomplish such sessions, reporting to Editors any absences from the workstation.  
  • Digitize video into edit systems with little or no supervision to assist Editors in the edit process.  
  • Perform simple tape-to-tape edits to complete smaller productions as directed by the Associate Director of Post Production. 
  • Assist with video field production in a grip and/or audio technician capacity, which includes carrying, setting up and striking video, audio, lighting equipment and set assembly as directed by the Producer or Videographer.
  • Drive 15-passenger van legally and safely for the transporting of staff and/or equipment, including production trips, shuttling staff and equipment to/from airports, local errands and other assignments.  
  • Report all Broadcast vehicle malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Samaritan's Purse Mechanic.  
  • Ensure that Broadcast vehicles are kept in a clean condition. 
  • Assist production staff by laying off video and/or audio for transcription.  
  • Count video and audio blank stock and report that inventory monthly to the Administrative Manager or his/her designee.  
  • Generate material request forms for purchase of video and audio blank stock to insure the availability of sufficient stock on hand for all production needs. 
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associates Degree from a college or university and one (1) year of related experience 
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and be willing to work the necessary hours needed to complete the assignment by assigned deadline
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally, at times with limited notice
