Samaritan’s Purse is seeking a leader to serve as our Program Manager, based at our International Headquarters in Boone, North Carolina. The Program Manager will work to oversee all aspects of the Program Supervisors and Coordinators in Afghan Resettlement Program. This position serves as primary data analyst and leads a team dedicated to working with Church partners to assist Afghan evacuees navigating resettlement. They will also maintain relationship with church sponsors, and welcome Afghans into communities in the United Sates.

A day in the life of a Program Manager, Afghan Resettlement Program:

In the role of Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Establishes procedures and guidelines for Program Management Team to provide information and build relationships with prospective Sponsor Churches, ensuring a high level of care is provided to all parties.
  • Oversees prospective sponsor vetting, including application preparation and completion
  • Manages training, in partnership with Resettlement Manager and Advisors, for Sponsor Churches on best practices and required standards of care using appropriate ministry curriculum and resources while maintaining quality assurance within data management system.
  • Partners with Resettlement Team with resettlement and post-placement practices, as needed.
  • Trains and manages three (3) Program Supervisors to support prospective Sponsor Churches through application process.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus in Management, Legal Studies, Social Work, or related field.
  • Four (4) or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two (2) years working in in a managerial capacity.  
  • Experience managing complex humanitarian programs, responding to large-scale emergencies. 
  • Proven capacity to manage teams, including remotely managing international employees.
  • Strong background in immigration law, managing complex governmental procedures, immigration law, and asylum casework.
  • Demonstrated success in managing grants, partnerships, and sub-grantees in the context of humanitarian disaster responses.
  • Familiarity with Afghan refugee resettlement programs or experience working with refugees of war and conflict.  
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies

Travel Expectations: Domestic travel could be requested, less than 10% of the year.
