Samaritan’s Purse South Sudan is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Training Coordinator to provide day-to-day support for monitoring and evaluation activities for our projects and programs. You will work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, program managers, technical advisors, and others to implement and provide oversight of an M&E system to improve accountability and information flow. A day in the life of a Monitoring and Evaluation Training Coordinator:

In the role of M&E Training Coordinator you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Assist the M&E Manager in designing, coordinating, and implementing M&E systems activity, working closely with program managers or technical advisors to implement program accountability and learning aspects
  • Ensure that all activities, including data collection tools, methods, analysis, and results meet quality standards for SPHERE, WHO, and Samaritan’s Purse
  • Assist the M&E Manager to develop and implement realistic monitoring plans for individual programs sector that capture quantitative and qualitative data
  • Lead formal research activities and surveys and serve as primary point person for all monitoring and evaluation related work
  • Ensure data collection tools, analysis, and results are in line with internationally standardized performance indicators, such as Food Consumption Score (FCS), Coping Strategies Index (CSI), and Household Hunger Scale (HHs) for integration into on-going monitoring activities
  • Maintain an effective information database for projects, including activities, results, targets, and progress reports
  • Develop and refine various data collection instruments (quantitative and qualitative) and maintain a results database to aggregate data
  • Train and assist program field staff to conduct surveys and participate in rapid needs assessments, baselines, and evaluations to inform program design
  • Conduct advanced statistical analysis and manage data entry process, storage, and analysis templates for project monitoring where required
  • Research and collect content and stories about the projects achievements
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  •  Bachelors’ degree in development related subjects or Economics and Statistics and two (2) years in Monitoring and Evaluation required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience managing staff preferred
  • Experience with VBA programming preferred)
  • Experience in Data Collection, Data Management and Analysis
  • Experience conducting project evaluations, including using different survey methodologies such as cluster sampling and LQAS, strongly preferred
  • Experience living and working in challenging settings strongly preferred
  • Strong writing and reviewing skills
  • Experience using statistical software such as STATA preferred
  • Good understanding of capacity assessment methodologies
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required)

 

Job Location: Field-based in South Sudan

Type: Full-Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required); Arabic a plus

Accompaniment: Non-Accompanied

Travel Expectations: Position is based in the field and frequent travel between sites is to be expected.
