Samaritan’s Purse is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join the Bio-medical division of our World Medical Mission team in North Wilkesboro, NC.  World Medical Mission was established in 1977 to assist general surgeons who wanted to volunteer for short-term mission trips. Today, hundreds of volunteer Christian healthcare professionals serve in overseas mission hospitals and clinics. We also ship critically needed medical equipment and supplies and send our Biomedical Technicians to install, repair, and maintain the equipment at these facilities.  By giving general administrative support to the team, you can be involved in life-saving medical equipment being sent to the far corners of the world.

A day in the life of an Administrative Assistant:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

In the role of Administrative Assistant, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Assist with recordkeeping, including gift-in-kind inventory, pricing, and project coordination, respond to prospective donors of medical equipment and supplies
  • Prepare and catalog technical documentation of medical equipment and supplies and assist with tracking overseas shipments
  • Process purchase/sell agreements and initiate paperwork, ensuring proper delivery method and time, billing, and processing payments
  • Screen phone calls for technical support and logistics for appropriate response or follow-up. Provide assistance, referrals, or documentation of calls as needed
  • Generate documents to purchase repair parts and supplies for the World Medical Mission warehouse and Bio-medical Technicians. Contact vendors for pricing, complete purchasing-card purchases, request invoices, and track shipments
  • Prepare domestic and international travel requests and travel authorizations for all technical services staff, and travel reimbursements upon completion of trips
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and one (1) to two (2) years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving and prioritization skills
  • Professionalism in dealing with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Organizational skills, following tasks through to completion
  • Time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Language Requirement: Fluency in English
