Are you a monitoring and evaluation professional looking for an opportunity to work with humanitarian aid worldwide? We are looking for a Roving Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist- International to join our team!  This position will work as the liaison with our International Projects teams help create, implement, and maintain Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems that support the department’s goals and purpose. This position also provides support to the Program Management team and international field offices on a as needed basis. Come be a part of what the Lord is doing here at Samaritan’s Purse!

A day in the life of a Roving Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist - International: 

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

In the role of Roving Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Support the creation of data collection tools for both paper-based and mobile data methods by response category and sector
  • Create standard M&E operating procedures for Disaster Assistance Response team (DART)
  • Deploy with DART to assist with needs assessments, establish M&E systems, and assist with grantor proposal development
  • Support international field offices through field visits or remotely by establishing M&E systems, designing and implementing evaluations and assessments, advising offices on data collection methods and statistical analysis, and assisting with proposal development
  • Revise and standardize M&E curriculum for the training and mentoring of M&E staff
  • All other duties as assigned

NOTE: This position will be based internationally, working out of one of our country offices. Exact location is to be determined. We are unable to support remote based work at this time.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) and minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training in monitoring and evaluation methodologies; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with theoretical and practical background in research and knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methodologies and techniques
  • Thorough knowledge of M&E best practices and computer applications, including proficiency in SPSS or other similar statistical analysis software, iForm, ERP systems such as Serenic Navigator, GIS systems such as ArcGIS, MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment. At least two (2) years’ experience living or working in a developing country preferred
  • Ability to frequently travel internationally
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies

Type:  Full-Time

Restrictions: Accompaniment to be determine

Travel Expectations: Estimated 120 days/annually; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary

* We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of evangelism.   (Matthew 9:35-38; 22:37-39, and 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15 and 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 2:6-10; 1 Peter 3:15)
