Samaritan’s Purse is seeking a Campus Relations Program Specialist to join the Campus Relations team at our locations in Boone, NC or North Wilkesboro, NC. As a Campus Relations Program Specialist, you will develop and execute all aspects of the Samaritan’s Purse and Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) internship and apprenticeship programs. This position engages in targeted recruitment efforts to ensure a consistently high-caliber pool of candidates for the program. You will assist with efforts to ensure overall program efficacy, including position creation and formulation; building relationships with hiring managers; screening, interviewing and hiring; performance management; onboarding and debriefing; and events and programming. Domestic travel will be required and occasional International travel. Join the team and use your gifts and talents for the Kingdom!

A day in the life of a Campus Relations Program Specialist:

In the role of Campus Relations Program Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Assists in the development and execution of the Samaritan’s Purse and Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) intern and apprentice programs
  • Leads programming strategy for the internship and apprenticeship programs, and ensures professional and spiritual development for interns and apprentices
  • Engages in recruitment efforts to ensure a high-caliber pool of candidates for programs through in-person and digital recruitment events and building pools of qualified candidates for hard-to-fill positions
  • Participates in training and curriculum strategy by collaborating with the Learning and Development team
  • Manages the screening, interviewing, and hiring process for internship and apprenticeship positions. Ensures efficient hiring mechanisms are in place that result in high quality, ministry-aligned hires
  • Develops and executes onboarding processes
  • Partners with Learning and Development team to train and prepare interns and apprentices during orientation
  • Captures and maintains data and relevant metrics to evaluate overall program efficiency, and provides analysis to relevant stakeholders
  • Develops and leads programming events for summer interns, focusing on professional and spiritual growth
  • Contributes to performance management and feedback efforts
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to ensure internship and apprenticeship positions are strategic and substantive
  • Ensures high quality and relevant representation of the ministry to college-age students and young professionals. Ensures recruitment efforts are consistently up-to-date and informed by demographic trends
  • Assists with the job requisition process through the HRIS
  • Follows policies and procedures of Samaritan’s Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual
  • Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public
  • Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Human Resources, Marketing, Business, Program Management, Communications, or related field of study
  • 3+ years of professional experience (required)
  • Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) (preferred)
  • Prior International experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in cross-cultural communication and ministry (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of candidate recruitment and hiring process
  • General knowledge of demographic trends and ability to translate those into recruitment strategy
  • Ability to drive results, balancing strategic thinking with tactical application
  • Ability to manage complex and competing priorities within fast-paced and changing work environment
  • Ability to cultivate relationships at all levels of the organization with focus on internal and external customer service
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for program improvement and development
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to calibrate approach to fit the audience
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required)

Job Location: Boone, NC (International Headquarters) OR North Wilkesboro, NC (2 Headcounts)

Type: Full-Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Travel Expectations: Frequent domestic travel around 25% per year and occasional International travel. Maintaining required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary.
