Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, is searching for an Operations Coordinator to serve at our IHQ in Boone, NC. A day in the life of an Operations Coordinator:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

In the role of Operations Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Serve in an operational capacity in one or more Processing Centers (PC) during the processing season, adhering to all policies and procedures as outlined in the OCC Processing Center Manual.
  • Manages PC set-up and training of seasonal staff for annual processing season
  • Coordinates OCC-related off-season operational activities in the PCs including, but not limited to, processing, shipping, receiving, moving supplies and equipment, inventory, tours, broadcast shoots, PC drop-off, and other approved special projects
  • Assists in the recruitment of volunteers, as needed, for the Boone PC, working closely with the OCC Volunteer Relations and OCC Administration teams to schedule and manage volunteers and volunteer-related issues
  • Assists the OCC Operations Manager and/or the OCC Operations Assistant Manager in preparing and executing the annual OCC PC purchasing plan
  • Prepares and maintains PC manifests, working with ministry teams that provide materials for the processing season
  • Assists with managing the inventory of all equipment and supplies stored in Boone and Charlotte related to OCC PCs
  • Assists with coordinating, shipping, and receiving OCC Processing Center Kits
  • Assists with managing OCC Operations vendor relationships
  • Receives, inventories, and verifies receipt of all Gift-In-Kind (GIK) donations at the Boone PC
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High attention to detail with strong administrative skills
  • Discernment in prioritizing projects with a strong ability to multitask
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence and good communicator
  • Competent writing skills
  • Comfortable managing warehouse inventory; receiving and verifying shipments
  • Team player with a flexible mindset and positive attitude
  • Current forklift certification (strongly preferred)


Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and six (6) months to one (1)

year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Location: Boone, NC (no remote option)

Type:  Full-time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Travel Expectations: Up to 15%
