A day in the life of an Event Technology Specialist

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

In the role of Event Technology Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Manage content and development of event management software including registration data, updating event schedules, formatting attendee communication and other details across all Operation Christmas Child Domestic teams (i.e., guest travel data, venue data, forms, event app, etc.)
  • Partner with various teams across Operation Christmas Child to understand and implement content vision into event registration, webpages, and emails
  • Primary contact for developing event registration and on-site or virtual experience for Operation Christmas Child Domestic events, assisting with housing and travel management; managing webpage content, and custom event reporting.
  • Supports with building, testing, and launching virtual event platforms, including migrating registration and event session data, developing user guides and standard operation procedures, and ensuring ease of use by event attendees
  • Serves as the point person with the Samaritan’s Purse Communications Department to ensure all event platforms and designs adhere to ministry standards
  • Manage critically important attendee and staff communications for events. This attendee care element is critical due to the key partnerships associated in these ministry areas
  • Create tools to gather guest evaluations/input; analyze gathered information, create visually appealing methods to present findings to leadership and provide solid recommendations for process improvement 
  • Manage digital event registration experiences for all Operation Christmas Child Domestic events as well as onsite experiences for select events. This is to insure a professional, comprehensive event registration and on-site experiences for Operation Christmas Child events
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) and two (2) to four (4) years of related experience in event or database management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail is critical
  • Excellent computer skills with ability to implement new programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe InDesign, specifically Creative Cloud
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and an understanding of web/graphic design
  • Able to proactively keep a project on track, communicating regular updates with internal stakeholders
  • Cvent software experience 
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies

Job Location: Boone, NC (no remote option)

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Travel Expectations: Less than 5%
