We are seeking a strong, Christian leader to serve as  National Staffing Manager for large-scale, temporary hiring.   This would include planning, implementation and supervision of teams to complete each project. This opportunity will bring oversight to all short-term, temporary, and on-call staffing across the ministry.  As National Staffing Manager, you will design a staffing plan, develop efficient processes and workflow, and then execute plans for large scale staffing for multiple departments including, but not limited to, Operation Christmas Child processing seasonal hiring.  Don't miss this opportunity to use your gifts and experience in a role that has Kingdom impact!

 

Job Duties

  • Oversees and directs seasonal staffing for the Operation Christmas Child processing season in all locations. 
  • Designs, implements, and manages processes involving advertising, promotion, recruiting, applicant tracking, interviewing, skills testing, reference checking, selection, offering, and orientation.
  • Oversees seasonal staffing vendors, as needed.
  • Travels to ministry site locations to assess needs and create partnerships.
  • Hires, trains, and manages Seasonal Staffing year-round team and oversees the hiring of Human Resource temporary teams.
  • Supervises a seasonal staffing year-round team to facilitate the planning and implementations of temporary hiring projects.
  • Develops seasonal workforce plans in conjunction with departmental leadership. 
  • Ensures that all Samaritan’s Purse screening and hiring policies and procedures are followed, resulting in the selection and hiring of quality, “ministry fit” temporary or seasonal employees.
  • Ensures all hiring projects are properly staffed, maintain daily headcount levels, and successfully end on time and within budget. 
  • Anticipates issues and initiates appropriate actions to avoid potential problems.
  • Recommends and implements action plans for improvement and to minimize Samaritan’s Purse exposure. Handles issues including conflicts and/or personal problems, policy/practice situations, etc.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources Learning and Development team to deliver Human Resources-related training programs, as needed.
  • Remains in sync with Recruitment and Human Resource team initiatives in order to relay consistent messaging.
  • Tracks and analyzes data to monitor business trends and costs of seasonal staffing on issues such as turnover, recruitment, and hiring expenses.
  • Cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with those who require large temporary hiring projects.
  • Advises, assists, and consults with managers on practical matters related to seasonal and temporary staffing, HR policy, employment law, HR compliance, orientation, and employee relations.
  • Stays abreast and knowledgeable about current employment laws and HR trends, particularly with staffing, recruiting, and related areas.
  • Assists with annual budget preparation and administration for the Seasonal Staffing team. Compiles monthly reports and other reports as needed.
  • Supports the Director, Recruiting and HR Partnerships with various projects, reports, and studies as it relates to large hiring projects for Samaritan’s Purse.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of workforce planning and implementation of hiring plans
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing strategies and implementation of a marketing plans
  • Ability to conduct market analyses
  • Ability to implement hiring and marketing plans
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources law
  • Ability to hold employees accountable
  • General knowledge of Employment Relations and conflict resolution
  • Ability to manage conflict among temporary staff
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management, project organization, goal setting and developing teams to accomplish the project
  • Ability to recognize, respond to, and manage changes to the vision and plans of a project
  • Thorough knowledge of business partnership
  • Ability to liaise and work collaboratively with departmental leadership
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal regulations including, but not limited to, Title VII, Affordable Care Act, EEOC
  • Ability to coach and mentor staffing teams to complete initiatives and goals, and drive overall project success

Job Location:  Boone, NC

Type: Full-Time

Travel Expectations: 60-70 days per year
