Overview

Are you passionate about children’s evangelism and discipleship and want to use your digital communication skills to help advance the gospel around the world? Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child are hiring Digital Community Response Associates as a part of the Digital Community Response Team in Boone, NC to provide communication and promotional support through various online platforms for the upcoming shoebox project season. Note: This is a temporary, full-time position starting in July 2021 and ending in January 2022

A day in the life of a Digital Community Response Associate:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

In the role of Digital Community Response Associate, you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
• Correspond with fans on Operation Christmas Child’s social media pages
• Work with the Digital Community Response team to respond to email inquiries in a timely manner
• Provide social media and promotional support during the height of project season
• Provide support in monitoring activity on the project’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, including searching hashtags and tagged posts
• Support Content Manager in recording and obtaining consent for content from Facebook, Instagram, and email
• Maintain thorough knowledge of Operation Christmas Child activities 
• Communicate with donors and prospective donors the various aspects of the project
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Demonstrated professional communication skills, specifically written communication
• Prior experience and/or education in marketing and/or public relations
• Knowledgeable and proficient with various social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
• Personable team player with a positive and flexible attitude
• Self-motivator with strong problem solving abilities
• Possess an innovative spirit that is also comfortable working within a defined system

Education:

Two years of college or technical school with a focus in marketing or public relations and twelve months’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Location: Boone, NC

Type:  Temporary, Full-time (July 2021 – January 2022)

Language Requirement: Fluency in English required
