Job Duties

We have an exciting opportunity for an Air Cargo Load Master/Emergency Medical Response Readiness Coordinator to join our International Projects Logistics team. This role ensures the readiness of the ground handling equipment, and oversees and coordinates all air cargo load building activities. Additionally, this role serves on the Projects Logistics Emergency Medical Response (EMR) team and is responsible for maintaining deployment readiness of all Emergency Medical Response (EMR) units including inventory and packing.

What you will be doing:

  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) in the area of air cargo load building best practices.
  • Check all air cargo ground service equipment in N. Wilkesboro on a scheduled basis to ensure operational readiness.
  • Service all air cargo ground equipment in N. Wilkesboro on an as needed basis.
  • Oversee and coordinate the building of required air pallets. This includes:
    • Building the air pallets based on all weight and dimensional constraints.
    • Ensuring the correct marking of all Dangerous Goods (Hazardous Material) cargo and developing the appropriate load plan for each item.
    • Ensuring that each air pallet is properly netted based on established best practices and/or internal procedures.
    • Ensuring the addition of a fire blanket, when necessary, to each air pallet.
    • Ensuring the air worthiness of each completed air pallet.
    • Weighing and tagging each air pallet.
    • Calculating the weight and balance of the load, and properly assigning and notating on each pallet tag the cargo position number to support the loading of the aircraft.
    • Loading each air pallet on to a 53’ trailer in a manner that ensures the air worthiness of the pallet.
    • Traveling to the Piedmont-Triad International (PTI) Airport as needed to support any outbound load-related issues. Travel with the aircraft to the destination on an as needed basis.
  • Act as the SME and internal trainer for transportation of Dangerous Goods (Hazardous Materials) via air transport. Provide Air Transport Dangerous Goods (Hazardous Materials) certification/recertification to internal staff members as needed.
  • Implement EMR warehouse protocols developed by logistics staff.
    • Support warehouse receiving, packing, and staging of equipment and supplies for quick deployment.
    • Update and maintain database/system(s) with inventory receiving and staging information for durables, kits, and consumables.
    • Oversee short term warehouse volunteers/staff used during times of peak warehouse activity.
    • Oversee monitoring and rotation of consumables by expiration date.
  • Provide training and maintain deployment readiness.
    • Assist in the development and setup of various technical team trainings.
    • Assist with training facilitation.
    • Assist in the deployment of protocols, procedures, and operations manuals for setup team.
  • Maintain medical logistics deployment readiness.
    • Liaise with EFH Logistics Specialist for pre-positioning of Emergency Medical Response (EMR) and Emergency Field Hospital (EFH) modules for worldwide deployment.
    • Develop infrastructure knowledge and assist the EFH Readiness Manager with deployment, trainings, and other responsibilities as needed.
    • Assist with simultaneous response support and restocking/rebuilding after a deployment.

In the role of Air Cargo Loadmaster/Emergency Medical Response Readiness Coordinator, you will spend your day helping to ensure the readiness of the ground handling equipment, and oversees and coordinates all air cargo load building activities. Additionally, this role serves on the Projects Logistics Emergency Medical Response (EMR) team and is responsible for maintaining deployment readiness of all Emergency Medical Response (EMR) units including inventory and packing.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Minimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three (3) to five (5) years’ related work experience required.
  • Previous experience building air cargo loads for a commercial/cargo airline or in the military is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience operating a forklift, working with warehouse or inventory management systems strongly preferred.
  • Ability to stand for long periods; stoop; lift up to 50 pounds; and work in high, precarious places.
