We are hiring an Agriculture and Livelihoods Program Coordinator located in the Middle East. The Agriculture and Livelihoods PC supports livelihood programming with multiple unique and diverse components, focusing on the enhancement of economic activities for returnees in the region in order to rebuild resiliency among affected communities in returnee areas by restoring livelihoods.

A day in the life of an Agriculture and Livelihoods PC:

In the role of Agriculture and Livelihoods PC you will have the opportunity to: 

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
• Assist Program Manager to develop innovative livelihoods programming to improve economic opportunities and resiliency amongst the community while considering local norms.
• Coordinate project implementation activities and ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with the agreed work-plans, proposals, guidelines, and standard operating procedures. 
• Directly supervise one (1) supervisory employee. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Assist Program Manager with management of project finances, ensuring that funds are spent in accordance with the proposal budget and Samaritans Purse policies.
• Coordinate with logistics team regarding procurement and deliveries for the program. 
• Help manage a diverse staff to include delegating tasks, building capacity, appraising and addressing performance, and resolving staff conflict. 
• Work directly with the project coordinators to plan weekly tasks and schedules and follow up on progress.
• Regularly visit field-sites to support with program implementation, beneficiary interaction, and stakeholder management. 
• Assist in writing timely, quality monthly reports, assessment reports, quarterly reports, and final report of all agriculture and livelihood activities. 
• 20% of time in contact with Samaritans Purse beneficiaries (children, young adults, adults at risk) promoting and safeguarding their welfare within the context of Samaritans Purse operations. 
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience: 

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferably in Agriculture, Business, International Development, Economics, Health and Nutrition, Food Security, or Livelihood from an accredited university and at least two (2) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to keep communication lines open with all parties in program of scheduling changes 
• Thorough knowledge of computer systems and its applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and iForm 
• Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and spoken
• Ability to coordinate activities with other departments and build and maintain positive working relationships
• Strong organizational and time management skills 
• Ability to coach and mentor others
• 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire

** Given the fluid security environment, the employee may be required to work remotely from a location determined by Samaritan's Purse leadership for an indefinite period, until conditions allow a return to the designated work location.

Travel Expectations: Willingness to travel in and out of the field. Travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary. This position requires domestic travel of approximately 30 days/year per a year.
