Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) Member with experience in Logistics, Administration, Program Management & Development
DART members who are bilingual Arabic - speaking with experience in Logistics, Administration, Program Management & Development contribute their experience in the humanitarian and non-profit sector to provide aid to those in desperate crisis situations in some of the toughest locations around the world. These responders assist in providing essential services including clean water, food, shelter, non-food item distribution, and medical care, all in the name of Jesus! DART members who work in these teams, in conjunction with the Team Leader, are responsible for planning, designing, and implementing all disaster response programmatic activities. They have an understanding in humanitarian programming and seek to use their experience in accordance with Samaritans Purse standards to serve those in need.
The Samaritans Purse DART is committed to meeting the critical needs of victims of war, poverty, famine, disease, and natural disaster. We focus on meeting needs in the areas of clean water, food, shelter, and medical care. We stand ready to respond at a moments notice whenever and wherever disaster strikes. The DART specializes in meeting physical needs while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
As deployments occur with little or no warning, DART members must have a flexible schedule and availability to deploy. DART members can be deployed to dangerous places, the living conditions can be challenging and the work days long and hard. However, Samaritans Purse believes in being the first on the ground in order to serve and help those who have suffered through a catastrophic event in the name of Jesus Christ.
How serving on the DART roster works:
DART members are on-call employees. They have careers and life circumstances separate from DART but are able to make themselves available when a new response is initiated. While deployed, DART members are compensated, and Samaritan's Purse covers response-related living and travel costs.
