Samaritans Purse is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in our Boone, N.C location! You can be helping the ministry stay protected through cybersecurity engineering every day! A day in the life of a Cybersecurity Engineer:

In the role of Cybersecurity Engineer you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and secure network designs and appropriate security measures including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs
• Design and manage innovative solutions to secure endpoints from malware, ransomware, and other cyber threats. 
• Act as a pivotal member of the cybersecurity incident response team and maintain availability to provide on-call support as needed to fulfill departmental service level agreements and operating procedures.
• Proactively identify vulnerabilities and threats to the ministry's entire technology stack. Prioritize findings and collaborate with relevant teams to coordinate remediation efforts. 
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a secure architecture aligned with industry best practices and compliance standards. 
• Monitor security alerts, logs, and reports to identify and respond to potential incidents in real-time
• Stays informed about emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, providing insights to enhance security posture
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Cybersecurity or related field and 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Thorough technical knowledge in a diverse range of technologies including networking, threat prevention systems, firewalls, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, identity and access management, and SIEM solutions.   
• General knowledge of various cybersecurity frameworks including PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST cybersecurity framework, Center for Internet Security (CIS) Critical Security Controls (CSC), OWASP, and privacy laws including GDPR
• Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies preferred not required
