Samaritans Purse is seeking a QA Engineer to join our team Remotely. You can assist the ministry in safeguarding our custom software, and ensure that it meets the functional and aesthetic specifications before client delivery. As a QA Engineer, you will work closely with Program Managers, System Analysts, and Senior QA Engineers to create manual and automated test scenarios that demonstrate the software is operating as required. A day in the life of a QA Engineer:

In the role of QA Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Him
  • Ensure software stacks are patched, appropriately deployed, and running efficiently and error-free
  • Work directly with Program Managers, System Analysts and Senior QA Engineers to understand business requirements and product architecture
  • Interact with UI/UX Designer to ensure that product achieves desired UI/UX
  • Collaborate with network administrators, systems analysts, product owners, and software developers in the testing of products and integrations
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management
  • Evaluate, plan, design, develop, and deploy testing techniques for new applications, products, and enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles
  • Create, modify and execute tests using Cypress, Postman, and various manual tools and techniques
  • Create and execute test scripts, cases, and scenarios that will determine optimal system performance according to specifications
  • Conduct all types of application testing as needed, such as system, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods
  • Analyze test results to discover and resolve defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality
  • Produce reports and documentation for all testing efforts, results, activities, data, logging, and tracking
  • Follow policies and procedures of Samaritans Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual.
  • Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers
  • Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or related degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of one (1) years software testing or related experience 
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, C# or SQL programming languages
  • Thorough knowledge of software stacks, including web and mobile UIs, APIs, services and databases
  • Thorough knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Strong project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software testing solutions 
  • Thorough knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies 
  • Thorough knowledge of automated testing tools such as Cypress or Selenium
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies preferred but not required
