A day in the life of an International Project Specialist

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other and our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.

In the role of an International Project Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Serve as a conduit across entire SP-OCC Intl team with new initiatives and communication flow as directed by senior leadership among IHQ, Field Staff and International Field Representatives
  • Coordinate and liaise with the OCC Field Ministry Discipleship team and Finance department for the annual process of approving and wiring Country Grants
  • Build and maintain onboarding and Global training program for IFR’s which includes standard Global Goals training expectations, expense report training, trip reports and MOU signing
  • Manage pooling of workflow to include travel, reimbursements, and being available to take responsibility across the entire OCC International team, with a focus on Field Ministry and Discipleship
  • Manage 100+ IFR post travel reports, manage the processing and reconciliation of operating funds and honorarium financial payments once trip report is received and provide a monthly reconciliation of each IFR’s account balances to Regional Administrative Coordinator
  • Take responsibility for the ongoing annual selection, ordering and maintaining inventory of staff and volunteer recognition gifts and clothing
  • Support international events team by ensuring records are updated in Cvent and Central Planning and Reporting software (CPR) event management software, printed materials are prepared and pre-event swag is packed
  • Coordinate and liaise with Audit department to ensure timely and effective annual audit visits to NLTs
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • General knowledge of data entry in various systems
  • General knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook Calendar and scheduling
  • Ability to calculate mathematical figures and perform budget reconcilations
  • Ability to communicate across cultures
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and three (3) to five (5) years related Project Management and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education

Type: Full-time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Travel Expectations: Approximately 15 days/annually of international travel; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
