Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Payroll System Analyst to join the Field Finance team at our International Headquarters location in Boone, NC. As a Payroll System Analyst, you will support payroll and timekeeping systems for the International Projects Field Offices and any future offices. You will develop and lead training programs, as well as travel to a variety of Field Offices. The Payroll System Analyst will provide ongoing user support, communicating problems encountered, and enhancements needed to Projects, Finance, and Information Systems. The role  directly serves as a liaison for system configuration and future payroll systems for implementation. International travel will be required. A day in the life of a Payroll System Analyst:

In the role of Payroll System Analyst, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Supports payroll and timekeeping systems in International Projects Field Offices
  • Develops and leads training programs for Samaritan's Purse staff on the use of payroll and timekeeping solutions either virtually, in-person classroom, or one-on-one training
  • Travels to a variety of Field Offices to provide user training, identify areas of improvement, and provide user support for system implementation
  • Provides user support, communicating problems encountered, and enhancements needed to Projects, Finance, and Information Systems staff
  • Serves as liaison of system configuration and testing for future payroll system in Field Office implementations
  • Tests all software updates prior to rollout and after to ensure continued accuracy of payroll system and calculation
  • Evaluates existing system configuration, process, and procedures for efficiency and accuracy
  • Facilitates user access requests for field payroll users and verifies accurate role assignments
  • Provides and reviews recommendations of improvement and internal controls of payroll components
  • Creates and maintains reference guides and job aides for payroll users via written and online formats
  • Reviews international tax publications to understand local tax structures and makes any necessary changes or updates to current tax or employment structures
  • Reviews and implements annual year-end updates to the payroll system
  • Ensures compliance with Samaritan's Purse financial practices and procedures in regards to payroll
  • Follows policies and procedures of Samaritan's Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual
  • Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public
  • Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, its donors, and volunteers

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree from a 4-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Information Systems or related field of study
  • 3-5+ years related experience and/or training (required)
  • Broad knowledge of Payroll, Accounting, Human Resources, Timekeeping, and general processes
  • General knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and systems integration
  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Effective in leading in-person and remote trainings
  • Ability to calculate, present, and analyze financial information
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work with a diverse team in a pressured environment
  • Proven ability to work creatively and independently. A strong team player and adept at creating a strong team spirit
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams across the organization
  • International experience and demonstrated success in cross-cultural communication and ministry (preferred)
  • Ability to travel and work in difficult conditions under pressure. International Travel required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Outlook (required)

Job Location: International Headquarters (Boone, NC)

Type: Full-Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Travel Expectations: Frequent International travel. Approximately 100 days/year. Maintaining required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary.
