    Samaritan’s Purse is seeking a Correspondence Assistant to serve at our International Headquarters in Boone, North Carolina. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your communication and administrative skills to complete correspondence and other administrative assignments as directed by the Executive Assistant to the President/CEO and Office Director (EA/OD).     A day in the life of a Correspondence Assistant:

    At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotion and spend time praying for each other, our staff, and volunteers who serve around the globe. 

    In the role of Correspondence Assistant, you will have the opportunity to: 

    • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
    • Designs and composes letters and general correspondence on behalf of the President/CEO. Assimilates all pertinent information to complete dictated and hand-written letters, general thank you note, 306/307 thank you notes, and scheduling requests.
    • Types and proofreads reports.
    • Reads and routes daily mail.
    • Monitors all incoming and outgoing calls and mail. Engages in complicated phone conversations pleasantly and professionally.
    • Organizes and responds to correspondence promptly.
    • Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all matters.
    • Liaises and interacts with VIP guests. Represents the ministry professionally in appearance and behavior at all times.
    • All other duties as assigned

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and at least three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
    • General knowledge of transcription (including dictation tapes)
    • Ability to operate a typewriter, computer, Dictaphone, and other office equipment
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
    • General knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies

    * We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of evangelism.   (Matthew 9:35-38; 22:37-39, and 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15 and 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 2:6-10; 1 Peter 3:15)
