Samaritan’s Purse is seeking a Full-Time, Roving Operations Advisor to join our Projects Department.  In this role, you will advise and train field office operations staff on operational functions, procurement policy and best practices. This position requires significant experience in setting up and running the operations in international humanitarian settings. A day in the life of a Roving Operations Advisor:

At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do!  We start each day with a time of devotions and prayer.  We hear from members of our staff, both from IHQ and our global offices, as well a special guest speakers who encourage us in God’s word.  We then join together to prayer for one another, as well as praying for staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.  We get paid to start each day this way! 

In the role of a Roving Operations Advisor, you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Maintain global knowledge of best practices, government regulations, and Samaritan’s Purse procedures for operations, including logistics, base management, procurement, warehousing, and inventory.
• Advises offices on use of field policies and Field Operations Guides (FOGs). 
• Advise country offices on setting up and maintaining processes and procedures for base operations including Procurement, Inventory, Warehousing, and Logistics.
• Provide coverage for country level vacancies in various operational roles, as well as surge capacity.
• Deploy in support of Disaster Assistance Resposne Team (DART) situations and establishes all types of operational components as needed.
• Visit country offices to ensure adherence to policies and procedures in operational areas.
• Work with country leadership to address areas of risk and develops remediation plans to bring deficiencies in line with policies. 
• Mentor country level operational staff in all areas of operations and best practices, and serves as a resource for problem solving.
• Attend daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers
• Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public
• Other duties may be assigned that are not specifically identified within the content of the job description

Qualifications & Experience:

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
• Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year College or university and two (2) to five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Progressive experience leading various types of operational teams (Procurement, Inventory, Warehousing, and Logistics) required.
• Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred. 
• Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment. At least two (2) years’ experience living or working in a developing country preferred.
• Ability to frequently travel internationally.

Job Location: This position will be based internationally, working out of one of our country offices. Exact location is to be determined.

Travel: This position requires frequent international travel, often with short notice.  Maintaining required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary.
