Samaritan’s Purse is seeking an ICT Field Systems Technician to join our team in North Wilkesboro, NC. You can be a part of a highly professional Information Technology team. As an ICT Field Systems Technician you will assist with imaging and support of laptops/desktop computers, network hardware, software services, and phone support, including remote field support. This position will have the opportunity to provide field support and will require travel to the field both domestic and international. Come and use your gifts daily to advance the Gospel!

A day in the life of an ICT Field Systems Technician:

In the role of ICT Field Systems Technician you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot computer hardware and related operating system software, as well as other communications hardware
  • Assist the ICT team with ongoing research and development of technologies which could benefit remote field staff
  • Help recover, maintain and build technology kits that are pre-staged for rapid deployment to the field
  • Assist with implementation of various field systems such as laptops, tablets, and network
  • Provide ongoing support to international field offices, both onsite and remotely
  • Provide on-call support as needed by management to fulfill the department Service Level Agreement and Internal Operating Procedures
  • Provide ongoing IT support of both domestic and international staff
  • Respond to Disaster Responses as needed and available
  • Follow policies and procedures of Samaritan’s Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual
  • Attend daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers
  • Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Two-year college or university program certificate; and 1+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • General knowledge of networking principals and application including ground up design and implementation (DHCP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Satellite based communication systems including VSAT and SAT Phone technologies
  • Thorough knowledge of computer/laptops including new builds, repairs and ongoing maintenance in addition to the Windows Operating System Platform
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • General knowledge of any of the following equipment is considered a plus: Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti (AirMax / Unifi), Motorola Radios, Various SATComm knowledge
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred but not required
