Opportunity Overview:

We have an incredible opportunity for an experienced GIS Manager supporting our internal IT department. This GIS Manager will be maintaining efficient and secure operations of current and future GIS software and databases. Also, completing the design and deployment of GIS software in a various database environments (e.g., ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE and SQL) completing ongoing monitoring, support, and management of the GIS configuration to ensure high performance, effective access by users, providing support for GIS applications, and oversee the ongoing integration of non-GIS databases and applications.This is an exciting opportunity for an analyst who wants to use their skills and abilities in a Christian Global Organization, impacting millions everyday! Technical Requirements/Duties:

  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.Installation and configuration of GIS software, systems, and databases including ArcGIS desktop, ,ArcGIS Server software, and other software packages used to support GIS applications.
  • Monitor system use and performance, perform trouble shooting, make adjustments and perform system and database tuning to ensure efficient and secure operations.

  • Set-up and perform all GIS system updates and back-ups.

  • Provide technical support in establishing GIS database quality assurance and in the installation of new or updated GIS data.

  • Configure GIS user interfaces that meet the needs of specific groups of users.

  • Support GIS users and other staff in the design and development of GIS applications.

  • Provide support in training and technical support to GIS users.

  • Create, develop and maintain GIS datasets as assigned.

  • Serves as a liaison between IT and other departments in needs assessment and subsequent design, development, delivery, and maintenance of GIS solutions.

  • Coordinates testing of GIS related projects.

  • Provide and maintain data sources for ministry GIS Analysts.

  • Ensure data security and privacy requirements are met.

  • Follows policies and procedures of Samaritan's Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual.

  • Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, its donors and volunteers.

  • Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
