Samaritan’s Purse is seeking an Engagement Coordinator to serve with the International Disaster Response Unit. This role is located in Boone, NC and is based in the International Projects department. You will have the opportunity to support the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) and Incident Management Team (IMT). This role will have the opportunity to execute engagement strategies, think creatively, support with administrative professionalism, and serve with a team right at the center of what the Lord is doing through international disaster response within Samaritan’s Purse.

A day in the life of an Engagement Coordinator:

  • Maintain fluid working relationships with International Disaster Response Unit team members to update and manage the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) roster.
  • Communicate via social media, phone, and email with DART members to ensure fluid communicate of organizational plan and disaster response activities.
  • Serve on an Incident Management Team (IMT) as requested, provide recommendations for staffing during disaster responses.
  • Assist with onboarding new DART members.
  • Create and cultivate engaging and informative content for use in email updates, print materials, and social media.
  • Support the International Disaster Response Unit (IDRU) in developing tools and training to build capacity within the organization to respond to disaster with appropriate staff.
  • Provide administrative support for trainings, events, and conferences.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; and three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Creative problem solver; flexible and able to work with a diverse team in a pressured environment.
  • Experience with corporate communication strategies and engagement, preferred.
  • Highly attentive to detail.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and work in a high paced setting.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required)
