We are hiring an Ebola Monitoring & Evaluation Program Manager for our field office in Democratic Republic of Congo! The Ebola Health & Nutrition Program Manager is responsible for strategic development, coordination, and management of Health & Nutrition programming for Samaritan's Purse DRC as it relates to our Ebola interventions. Description of job duties:

  • Provide leadership over the development of a Health & Nutrition Sector Strategy in Ebola response for Samaritan's Purse DRC
  • Directly guide, manage, and support Health & Nutrition Ebola project staff through assigning work packets, conducting performance reviews, resolving team conflicts, capacity-building, ongoing technical support, direction and constructive feedback
  • Represent Samaritan's Purse DRC in various Ebola response coordination forums, and by developing strategic relationships with Ebola Commissions, Health & Nutrition clusters, local government, other INGOs/NGOs, and other stakeholders in Samaritan's Purse DRC’s areas of operation
  • Provide Health & Nutrition technical assistance to the Program Development Officer in developing new Ebola project proposals that align with Country Office strategy for sector-specific and multi-sectoral programming
  • Effectively manage project finances through adherence to Samaritan's Purse and donor financial guidelines within approved budget limits
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Department to ensure project inputs arrive in a timely and transparent manner to meet project objectives
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as other reports required by internal stakeholders and external donors
  • With technical assistance from the M&E Coordinator, regularly monitor and evaluate project activities to track progress toward indicators, incorporate lessons learned, and improve Health & Nutrition programming
  • Oversee all staff based in the health project including recruitment, appraisal, management, general well-being, job descriptions, work schedules, discipline etc. in coordination with HR and the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications: 

  • A personal, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and desire to continue being an active, consistent witness for Him
  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, plus three to four years of experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in one or more of the following majors: Public Health, Nutrition, Community or International Development, Health, etc.
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in eastern DRC, specifically in Health & Nutrition interventions
  • Experience managing a culturally diverse team with a sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Fluency in English required; intermediate French preferred
  • Analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changes and to be flexible and patient
  • Ability to develop and carry out work plans and solve problems independently
