The job:

  • Provide reasonable assurance to country leadership and regional leadership that there are efficient policies and procedures in place, well understood by staff and that Samaritan’s Purse DRC conforms with all regulatory requirements
  • Develop, review and periodically revise a Country Plan to ensure adherence with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures, and governmental guidelines
  • Oversee and monitor implementation of the country plan and coordinate efforts related to audits, reviews and examinations, both internal and external
  • Provide country leadership with guidance, advice on policy and procedure issues
  • Develop training programs to ensure staff have an understanding of issues of policy and procedure and corrective measures needed for non-adherence
  • Lead coordination of internal policy and procedure review and monitoring activities including periodic review of country office departments
  • Provide country and regional leadership written quarterly reports on the status of the country plan as well as steps take to correct non-adherence
  • Assist in investigations and audits as directed by Samaritan's Purse Projects Leadership
  • Report issues of fraud, financial mismanagement, Child Protection and Safeguarding, corruption and bribery, and procurement practice as specified in Samaritan's Purse Corporate Policy

  

The requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ related international work experience.  Formal training and experience in risk management, audit investigation and related subjects
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies required
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral proficiency in English
  • Ability to read, speak and write in French
  • High level of integrity and ethical character
  • High level of professionalism and keen eye for detail
  • Ability to be proactive - possess keen alertness to potential compliance breaches
  • Ability to concisely explain information to others, both management and field staff; ask questions for clarification, demonstrate openness and willingness to share and learn
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
