Opportunity Overview:

We have an incredible opportunity for an experienced Senior Database Engineer/Architect to join our internal Cloud Infrastructure Team! As part of our cloud initiative, we have been tasked with implementing highly-available relational and schema-less databases and queuing technologies, with a requirement for open-source. This work is being completed in an AWS/VMware mixed Cloud environment, utilizing DBMS to include MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or similar. Designing and implementing procedures around backup and disaster recovery (DR) and automating deployment of database systems and database maintenance tasks will also be a significant requirement of this position. Currently this Cloud build and Implementation, stands at the forefront of progress in the non-profit Christian IT arena making this a great opportunity for any Infrastructure Engineer.  If selected, you will be a part of a small, diverse, incredibly driven Cloud team, and will be given a great sphere of influence having to make mission critical decisions that will impact the entire Cloud project. Technical Requirements:

*   Preferably 3+ years of Database Engineering experience utilizing commercial or Open Source technologies.

*   Experience working in a Red Hat Linux/RHEV/Unix or CentOS Data Center environment.

*   Engineering data utilizing proprietary DBMS's like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or MongoDB into SQL Server or MongoDB to achieve High-Availability.

*   Preferred experience utilizing Amazon S3 or similar tools for Object storage and Data retrieving. 

*   Ensuring high availability of various Databases for the Cloud infrastructure teams.

*   Monitoring various Open Source and Commercial Databases, coordinate maintenance, and reduce any outages.

*   Architect, plan, and implement innovative Infrastructure solutions alongside Storage Engineers, to meet the challenges presented in a Complex Cloud implementation.

*   Experience utilizing Python, Bash, SQL, or related scripting languages to automate Database maintenance.

*   Experience with Memcache, or similiar tools as a memory object caching system.

*   Desired Experience completing large and small scale Data migration projects.

*   Performing Log analysis with tools such as Logstach or similar tool for collecting, parsing, and storing logs.

*   Preferred experience working on multi-site Databases ensuring that processes and automation remain consistent in all locations.

*   Monitoring various Open Source and Commercial Databases, coordinate maintenance, and reduce any outages.

*   Troubleshooting complex Database performance, stability, and structural issues, then escalating issues when necessary.

Helpful Certifications/Additional:

*    Helpful Certifications: OCP, OCM, MongoDB Certified Developer.
*    Provide cost analysis of implementing new Database tools.
