Are you a creative writing professional who is ready to utilize their talents and gifts to play a key role on our marketing team?  All our team members will aid in sharing the Hope of the Gospel to children through the ministry of Operation Christmas Child!  Operation Christmas Child, a program of Samaritan’s Purse, partners with local believers and churches in over 125 countries to share the powerful message of the Gospel through a simple shoebox gift.

Come serve as a Correspondence Representative for the Integrated Marketing Team, communicating the impact of Operation Christmas Child through social media, email and letter correspondence, as well as various means of marketing and promotional support.  This is a part-time position that will continue year round.  The qualified candidate will work a set schedule, on campus in Boone, NC.

**NOTE: This is a part time position working about 20 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Correspond with fans on Operation Christmas Child’s social media pages using the OCC Social Media Response Guide and Marketing Style Guidelines.
  • Respond to questions/comments on OCC’s Facebook posts and wall.
  • Work with the OCC Correspondence Coordinator to respond to email inquiries in a timely manner, following all Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child correspondence guidelines.
  • Provide social media and promotional support.
  • Provide support in monitoring activity on the project’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, including searching hashtags and tagged posts.
  • Record fan content posted on Operation Christmas Child’s Facebook page into a working spreadsheet that include quotes, photos and ideas posted onto the page.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Operation Christmas Child activities.
  • Communicate to donors and prospective donors the various aspects of the project.
  • Read donor requests and response directions, analyze needs, and compose responses to answer donors’ questions while conveying necessary information using OCC responses.
  • Periodically or as needed, complete all required reports and participate in all staff meetings as required.  Respond to seasonal needs, special assignments, and promotional campaigns.
  • Support other Domestic teams at events or conferences as needed.
