Samaritan's Purse is a non-denominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. For over 40 years, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ. World Medical Mission helps to fulfill those needs through the auspices of the medical sector at Samaritan’s Purse and partnerships with mission hospitals worldwide.  We are now searching for an Assistant Director, International Hospitals for World Medical Mission (WMM).

  

The Assistant Director will assist the Director of World Medical Mission (WMM) in administration, staff relations, staff development, public relations, donor relations, financial development, and organizational planning.  We are searching for a doctor (MD or DO) that has experience in providing administrative oversight for our international hospital partnerships.  While the Director promotes and instills vision, the Assistant Director promotes implementation of the vision.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Revamp hospital assessment tool to incorporate a formalized assessment strategy for developing and evaluating international hospital partnerships.
  • Develop, implement and monitor strategic plans for the development of WMM programs that include assessment and improvement of existing hospital programs and development/expansion of hospital network partnerships. 
  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the activities of WMM.
  • Recommend solutions in dealing with difficult situations that may arise with leadership of mission hospitals.
  • Respond to difficult and specialized inquiries regarding the medical ministry.
  • Assist with completion of statistical analysis by coordinators and also as information is requested by internal departments.
  • Ensure financial reports are reviewed monthly and negative balances are addressed and collected. Work with Internal Auditor and implement recommended changes and updates as required. 
  • Ensure WMM Policy and Procedure Manual is reviewed and updated as necessary and reflects the actual responsibilities of departments within WMM.
  • Work with Communications Department to ensure accurate and up-to-date WMM brochures and materials.
