Samaritan’s Purse is seeking an Administrative and Material Specialist to serve with Operation Christmas Child International located in Boone, NC.  In this role, you will directly support the Global Programs Assistant Director and team through providing administrative support, program management of Global Programs projects, and maintaining the training and resource library.  If you are highly organized and have a heart to serve others, join the team and use your gifts for the Kingdom!

A day in the life of an Administrative & Material Specialist:

In the role of Administrative & Material Specialist you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Serve as primary support to the Assistant Director, Global Programs and the Global Programs Team (GPT) by managing travel arrangements, expense reports, document printing, staff training events, data entry requests, and High Impact training registrations
  • Support the Asst. Director in tracking all projects and ensuring they maintain deadlines by monitoring all active GPT projects, updating tasks in the project management software and meeting weekly with GPT Senior Managers to ensure data is accurate  
  • Assist the Asst. Director with scheduling meetings, sending communications, quarterly travel planning, and weekly/monthly reporting
  • Manage updates to travel tracking software and team travel calendars for the GPT and Field Events Team
  • Collaborate with International Field Support to make necessary updates to project documents and training resources in Adobe InDesign
  • Maintain the training and resource library with the latest resources in each category and in all languages; make updates, edits or changes to documents as requested
  • In collaboration with Volunteer Relations staff, manage the implementation of OCC International’s volunteer recognition program, assuring distribution of materials to each international region; gather feedback to improve program annually
  • Assist with special projects requested by Field Ministry Discipleship team leadership, including general support during conference and training seasons
  • Serve as additional administrative support for the department when needed  
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; at least 3 years’ experience working as an administrative assistant in a team setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in project management, preferred
  • Experience in Adobe InDesign or graphic design, preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail; flexible when priorities change
  • Organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English (required)
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (preferred)
