Mission Statement

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • “My time in the military has been a huge asset working at Samaritan’s Purse. The military taught me skills in leadership, thinking on my feet, and decision making, and these are skills I use almost every day. Just like the military, Samaritan's Purse has a clear mission. No matter where you work within Samaritan's Purse the mission is to share the Gospel and love of Jesus around the world. Samaritan's Purse does not hesitate to go to the most difficult situations to serve those with the most need. The military has prepared me to serve in these situations. I joined the military to serve my country, now I'm part of Samaritan’s Purse to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.”
—John Pryor, Lead Organizational Initiatives Strategist, Operation Christmas Child
  • “The military taught me not just about security, but how to be a manager, how to lead people, and how to overcome obstacles. I’ve always wanted to do Kingdom work and use my experience in the military and law enforcement. I am blown away at the depth and breadth of everything Samaritan’s Purse does—the focus is the Gospel and helping others. I know this is the place God wants me.”
—Mark Lyons, Global Security Operations Center Analyst, Samaritan’s Purse
