Description of Job Duties:

  • Design program curriculum / lesson plans for use in sports sessions which teach spiritual, moral, and ethical leadership based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Implement Sports Program according to program goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, train, support and provide leadership for volunteers and staff of SP Greece Sports Program.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and safety of recreational facilities and equipment.
  • Articulate overall vision for SP Greece Sports Program, and in collaboration with the SP Greece Civil Society Strategist develop goals, strategies, proposals and budgets for future SP Greece Sports Program.
  • Closely monitor program implementation in accordance with organizational monitoring and evaluation requirements.
  • Coordinate and share information with the Area Coordinator and Civil Society Strategist or designate to ensure program targets and donor obligations are being met.
  • Budget management, ensuring all project funds are spent in accordance with SP procedures. Work with the Civil Society Strategist or designate and country Finance Manager to forecast project expenditures.

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Commitment to the Samaritan’s Purse statement of faith, and experience in working with cross-cultural and cross-denominational Christians.
  • BA degree or above; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • One year (12 semester hours) of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with procurement process, as well as inventory/cash accountability procedures.
  • Strong working knowledge of soccer, to include technique, rules, and program management, strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel in and out of field.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
  • Arabic or Dari language skills desired but not required.

12 month contract with potential for extension
